Future plans

We are currently developing our future strategy, which will focus on providing the highest quality mental health and learning disability services.

As part of this, our community (physical health) services in Bury, Oldham, Rochdale (adult services) and Trafford will be moving to a new NHS provider in 2019. For Bury, Oldham, Rochdale (adult services), this will take place on the 1st July 2019

We have been very proud to run community (physical health) services over the last seven years, but we believe there are other provider organisations better positioned to enable these community services to achieve more for the benefit of local people. We are working closely with our staff and colleagues in the new provider organisations to ensure the smoothest possible transfer.

We currently have a  vacancy for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to join our busy inpatient ward working  days and nights in Stockport. The successful applicant will work on Saffron Ward which is an intermediate care ward for patients suffering form delirium, depression and dementia. The ward is 23 bedded and admits adults that are 65 and over.

Role Summary

The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills and work effectively in a Band 5 role, will welcome a challenge and  be committed to care of the older people with mental health needs. You will be responsible for the assessment of needs, planning, implementation and evaluation of care of clients admitted to the ward. You will supervise junior staff, ensuring highest standards of nursing care are delivered in accordance with trust policies and procedures, along with The Mental Heath Act and all other legislation.

The trust will facilitate learning opportunities with all mandatory training programmes and a range of opportunities for professional and personal development.
